As you advance levels in the game of Farmville, and you become more skilled at the basic
aspects of the game, you may desire a new challenge. Crop Mastery is a great way to challenge
yourself and to have something to show for your hard work. Mastering crops takes time, but if
you are a regular player then you may be up for the challenge.
There are three levels of mastery for all Farmville produce, except limited edition crops which
cannot be mastered. To begin the art of mastery you may wish to start easy with a one or two day crop to focus upon. You should estimate how many plots of land you have, to determine about how long it will take you to conquer each harvest.
For details on how much work you will need to do to master a crop, visit your market page and
mouse over the stars and progress bar below each crop. You will see a number to indicate how
much you have already planted and how much of that crop you will still need to plant. For
example, to conquer the first level of rice mastery, you need to harvest 400 plots. If you have
already harvested some, when you mouse over the progress bar, you will see a number such as
302 above the 400 to indicate the earlier produce you planted. Each level of mastery requires you to harvest more of that crop than the previous level.
If you are not sure what crop to start with, decide how often you will be able to visit your farm.
If you can only visit twice a day, consider a twelve hour crop. If, however, you live and breathe
Farmville, go all out and harvest those two hour crops. How much of a crop you need to plant is
determined upon how long that crop takes to grow. Raspberries, a very short two hour crop,
require 1500 units for the first star. Bell peppers take two days to harvest, but only require 350
units for that first level. Determining what to master will depend on what you have the time to
do.
If youare intent on getting as many crops mastered as possible, you may want to rotate between
mastering two or three crops at a time. For example, plant a twelve hour crop before bed, plant a two hour crop if you are home for the morning and plant an eight hour crop before you leave for work. It will take longer to master more than one crop at a time, but you may find it fits your
schedule better.
So what is it all for? Crop masters receive a Mastery Sign for each crop they conquer. You can
place your sign anywhere on your property to exhibit your superb farming abilities. Crop
mastery signs are bragging rights on Farmville. A daunting row that catches the eye of visitors is
especially nice to have.
Crop Mastery is rumored to become even more fun in the near future. Zynga has mentioned a
coming Farmer’s Market where Mastery will be important. So, if you haven’t conquered any
crops yet, get to work.

Uses For Bayles of Hay In Farmville
Did you know that there are a lot more uses for the bales of hay as
well as fences then just decoration?
Well, quite a number of farm owners use them to give a 3D image of
their farm (I actually use this technique as well, if you notice the
top right side of my farm, it looks like it's on an elevated ground!)

Anyway, back to talking about stacking hay bales and fences in
FarmVille. It's pretty cool and can help you build items which
resemble a skyscraper or even create a raised plateau to put your
plantation or villa on - how amazing is that!
Here's how to do it:
Technically, you cannot stack items in FarmVille - it's just due to
the limitation of the game graphics. However, do not fear, it's
quite easy once you get the hang of it but be patient at the start!
Once you get it perfected, it's easy to create even more amazing
farms using this elevation technique.
To do this correctly, you have to place the fences or hay bales at
spots directly behind each other, making sure that the edges or
fence posts are aligned perfectly. Continue doing this to go as high
up as you want!
If this is confusing to you, don't worry (it was to me as well at
first), just pause my video at 0:48 into it and see for yourself!

Why Grow Trees and Animals In Farmville
For starters, the trees in FarmVille contribute a lot like animals.
They can be harvested for coins and can be moved at any time. Once
you plant a tree, they will continue to produce fruits that can be
harvested and sold every 2-5 days.
All trees takes up 1 small square (there are 16 small squares in 1
crop square), so they can be planted very closely together. Again,
you will need to consider the coins earned per tree per hour, as
well as the original price of the tree (though this will be
negligible in the long run).
Now, another item you can purchase to give additional income are
animals. This is a great addition to planting crops and trees as
you now will have the option to raise animals (and make your farm
a lot more attractive!). Animals produce items which you can collect
and sell. Also, another great thing is that these animals do not
need to be fed and do not disappear after you 'harvest' them.
However, one setback with animals is that some animals take up a
lot more space than others. As a guide, horses and cows take up 4
small squares in total while other animals only take up 1 small
square. As a result, you can have 4 smaller animals in the same
space that 1 cow or horse would fill up.
In the FarmVille Secrets Strategy Guide, you will find a list
of the trees and animals, their product, how much their product
sells for, their size and profitability.

Crop Selection Is Key
It is extremely important to know what you want to do when planting a crop. There are so many variables to take into account, growth time, coins received or even XP earned. And so...
Carefully Choose Your Crop. As mentioned, no crop is the same. They vary and some of these crops pay more coins than others, while others give more experience points and some would take longer to grow. This leads to a very interesting combination depending on what you want from your farm.
Let's consider the things you would want from your farm.
If you want to level up quickly, you should look at the number of experience points per hour. This will tell us which crop gives the most XP every hour which will help you achieve higher levels a lot quicker. To calculate experience points per hour, add up the experience points from plowing the field and planting the crop and then divide that by the time it takes for the crop to grow.
If you want to have more coins, then look at coins earned per hour AFTER you minus the original cost from the sale cost. Only then will you find out how much coins you have earned nett. This willtell you which crop gives the most coins per hour which in turn gives you more coins as compared to other crops.

Farmville Strategies

If you're fairly new to the addictive game of FarmVille, you'll soon know why it has taken the game-world by storm and now even bigger than World of Warcraft.
Where to start? Well, you have to choose which crop seeds you will grow, the type of buildings you will have on the farm and then you will have your decorating options and finally what livestock you will be raising on your farm. Due to the vast amount of choices available it can be a wee bit tricky to plan out your farm properly.
Don't Rush The Farm. Just like on a real working farm, you should try to get the highest and best use out of your farm land when you are farming in FarmVille. So you'll need to clear a good chunk of your land in order to plant as many crops as is feasible. Keep in mind though, it cost fifteen coins to clear one plot of land and you must use coins to buy the seeds also. So if you clear away too much land, you'll have spent all your coins will be unable to buy the seeds for the cleared land. Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? So, watch your spending and you will have enough for everything.
Once again go slowly with your expansion so that you can always maximize the growing potential of your plowed pots of land. Once you have a harvest, re-plant right away. That way you know how much more land you can afford to clear and replant. Using this strategy will enable you to experience good expansion, while being able to balance the finances sensibly and you will always have enough to plant on all your plowed plots.
Timing Your Harvests. At first it can be a bit difficult to get the right timing of your harvests, down pat. Every crop you plant in Farmville will take it's own certain amount of time to grow to maturity. Once a crop matures, it's time for you to harvest it. However, if you take too long to take your harvest, the crops will basically rot and wilt over, becoming a total waste for you. You'll have to start over by plowing the land and re-planting. Thus consuming more of your funds etc. So, make sure your planning involves the right timing for you to be able to get back in time to avoid this from happening.
The beauty of FarmVille is that you can work it out around your own schedule. If you know that you can only log in once or twice a week, then plan your harvests accordingly. If you really want to crank it up and be on there for some time every day, that's up to you. The fact of the matter is, though, that once you start playing , you may very well become addicted, just like the other 65 million people who log in to play regularly!
